Com. Umraomal Purrohit a legendry leader of trade union movement , Secretary Staff Side JCM National Council and the President of All India Railwaymen’s Federation expired at Mumbai in hospital at 4.15 AM on 27th February, 2014 . He was a great statesman and visionary leader of working class.Veteran leader and AIRF President . Late Umraomal Purohit has done
yeomen service not only to the Railway Trade Union movement but also to the
Central Government employees during the last six decades The Federations on common
issues. Being senior leader, late Umraomal Purohit has all along been the
source of inspiration for the overall good of not only Railways but also nation
as well as working people' As HMS General Secretary late Umraomal Purohit has
played very vital role in the national trade union movement. Relations between AITUC
, CITU, INTUC & Federatons of Central Government Employees and HMS have always been cordial due to the
initiatives of late Umraomal Purohit. In his death the trade union movement as
well as working class suffered an irreparable loss.
