To
Secretary
Department of Posts
Dak Bhawan, New Delhi-
Respected Madam,
Sub:- Indefinite Strike by the RMS workers under the Banner of JCA of Karanataka Circle-. On Implementation of MNOP at Bangalore Sorting. Division.
R-III & R-IV NFPE/FNPO Unions of Karanataka Circle has launched indefinite strike.
from 1st August, 2011. The CPMG Karanataka Circle is implementing various antiworkers activities, Circles are not honouring this agreement which shows not serious on the agreement reached with the unions and breaches it at its own will. resentment among the staff is simmering which will lead to industrial action.
The Circle JCA intimated that to the above subject, a meeting was held on DPS (M & TS) with JCA on 21-07-11. The Unions expressed their view by stating that the recent agreement between All India JCA and Dept of Post, regarding first class mails, L1 & L2 everything will be decided by a high level committee constituted by the Department, including the union representatives.
Therefore Union representatives urged the DPS to drop the proposal of shifting, Bangalore TD Sorting, to BCRMS, centralizing CRC's etc untill the high level committee takes a final decision.
The DPS expressed that he will write to directorate about these development and wait for their instruction. But to our surprise, the administration suddenly started the process of shifting BG TD Sorting and CRC BG to BCRMS and shifting AHRO III to BGGPO without consulting the union.
Our union strongly opposes the merger because it is not only against the existing policies and practices of the Department and the unions also it is likely to result in avoidable problems to the staff concerned. Even though clear instructions were issued by the Directorate to all concerned to discuss all such proposals with the unions at relevant levels before initiating any further action, they are being disregarded. No discussion are being carried out with the concerned unions which are better placed to scrutinize the proposals and render their opinions demands containing justified problems which are being faced by Many Circles. As the Circle administrations did not take suitable action in a reasonable time the industrial action became invitable.
We would request to you to kindly intervene in the matter urgently and direct the CPMG Karnataka Circle for the settlement of demands in consultation with the unions and honour the agreement reached with the unions and create a congenial atmosphere in the Circle.
Thanking you, Yours faithfully
( P.SURESH.)
