Prime Minister’s Speech on Civil Services Day, 2012
The following is the text of the speech of the Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh on the occasion of the Civil Services Day
“On this occasion of the seventh Civil Services Day I warmly greet all members of our civil services. This annual event provides our civil services an opportunity to reaffirm their collective commitment to serve our country and our people to the best of their ability. It is also an occasion for the civil servants to introspect and reflect on their role and performance, and how these can be made more effective, more meaningful.

Split in AIPED Employees Union - A new GDS union formed
During the 7th All India Conference of All India Postal Extra Departmental Employees Union held at Mozri in Amravati District of Maharashtra Circle, from 6th to 8th April, 2012, one group led by AP,West Bengal, Odisha and Kerala circle unions break away from SSMahadevaiah led AIPED Employees union and the break away group formed a new GDS union "AIPEU GDS (NFPE)". The following office bearers are elected to the newly formed AIPEU GDS (NFPE).
All-India President: Com. Vijay Gopal Sur - West Bengal.
General Secretary: Com. P. Panduranga Rao - Gudur Dn of Andhra Pradesh.
Financial Secretary: Com. Murugan - Kerala.
Elected office bearers of AIP ED Employees Union
The 7th All India Conference of All India Postal Extra Departmental Employees Union was held in at "Gurukunj Ashram" Mozri in Amravati District of Maharashtra Circle, from 6th to 8th April, 2012. Com. D.N. Giri, BPM Sivani Amravati,Dn. (Maharashtra) and Com.S.S. Mahadevaiah, GDSMD Doorvani Nagar P.O.Bangalore East Dn. Com. Rajender Divakar (Rajasthan) are unanimously reelected as President and General Secretary. and Treasurer. Com. B.V.RAO , GDS Union ex All India President, BPM Chadalavada BO of Tenali Dn of Andhra Pradesh circle was elected as Ist Asst General Secretary.
